Public Involvement
CanDetect will access key Patient & Public Involvement and Engagement stakeholder groups via each university setting. At QMUL this is the Public Advisory Panel (PAP) of the Wolfson Institute of Population Health. The PAP has a special focus on how to engage stakeholders from across East London to collaboratively address issues around health inequalities.
Collectively these groups will be represented on the CanDetect Steering Committee, and group members will contribute across the whole programme. For example:
- For Workstreams 1 and 2 our PPI stakeholders will contribute to the inception, the research process and the interpretation of findings the research activities;
- For Workstream 3, the co-design activities will include active involvement of our PPI stakeholders at every stage to optimise recruitment, ensure clarity of the participant information materials and the relevance of the interview/focus group protocols. They will also support the team to recruit a diverse sample through their local networks.
