Researcher

Dr Ian Porter

Ian is a Research Fellow at the University of Exeter. The focus of his research is on the management of chronic conditions in primary care with an emphasis on patient experiences and outcomes. He has recently worked on a project to develop, pilot and implement an international survey of outcomes and experiences for patients with chronic conditions (the PaRIS-survey) across member countries of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD).

His contribution to the CANDETECT programme builds on his previous work on literature reviews, including an umbrella review on the responsibilities and impacts of additional healthcare worker roles in general practice, and a Cochrane review on the feedback of patient-reported outcomes in clinical practice.
