Dr Christina Derksen
Researcher
Christina holds an M.Sc. in Clinical Psychology from Philipps-University Marburg and graduated with a PhD in Psychology from Constructor University Bremen. She joined the Centre of Prevention, Detection, and Diagnosis at the Wolfson Institute of Preventive Medicine in May 2023.
In her research, she uses quantitative and qualitative methods to develop and refine a Multi-Cancer Early Detection (MCED) Platform to facilitate the detection of upper gastrointestinal cancers. Her focus is to apply psychological and behavioural theories to understand determinants of health and illness in different contexts, including patient safety, early cancer detection, and COVID-19. She works in multidisciplinary research networks to facilitate the connection between research and practice, applying co-creative and Open Science methods.
