Charterhouse Square Postdoc Conference – June 2024

At the Charterhouse Square Postdoc Conference 2024, postdoctoral researchers from different institutes at Queen Mary University of London came together to discuss their research in the early detection of cancer. Dr Christina Derksen presented first results from a systematic review on barriers and facilitators of clinical decision support systems. Using frameworks from behavioural and implementation science, she discussed why systems that aim to support diagnostic decision making are often not used in primary care – and what we can do about it to help primary care providers recognise symptoms earlier and make useful referral decisions.
