CanDetect PhD studentships

We are delighted that the CanDetect Programme now has its full complement of 4 PhD students working with the team.

Ben McGuirk

At QMUL Ben McGuirk  joined us in 2024. Ben is working with the Workstream 1 team on his PhD titled – ‘Development of machine learning models for the early detection of upper gastrointestinal cancers in primary care’. You can read more about Ben and his work here

 

JoJo He

Also joining us at QMUL in 2024 is Zhezhou He (JoJo). JoJo is working with our health economics team in Workstream 3.3 on his PhD titled – ‘Economic analyses of decision support tools for early detection of UGI cancer’. You can read more about JoJo and his work here.

 

Kyra Fraser

At UCL Krya Fraser started her PhD in 2023, and is working with the Workstream 2.1 team on her PhD titled Identification of novel biomarkers for the early detection of upper gastrointestinal cancers in primary care settings. You can read more about Kyra and her work here.

 

Oksana Kryshevich

Finally, at Exeter, we welcomed Oksana Kryshevich in 2024. Oksana is working with Workstream 2.2 on her PhD titled Innovative tests to help in the diagnosis and detection of upper gastro-intestinal tract cancers. You can read more about Oksana and her work here.

These appointments demonstrate the CanDetect Research Programme’s commitment to investing in and supporting aspiring researchers through PhD studentships and encouraging their involvement in all our research activities. We wish all our PhD students the best of luck with their studies!
